Dahej (PCPIR) area in Bharuch District is touching new horizons of economic development and taking a lead in globalizing India in its true sense.

It's a formidable industrial base in sectors as diversified as chemicals & petrochemicals, Fertilizer, textiles, drugs & pharmaceuticals and ports & ship building, dyes & dyes intermediates. Averaging the existing industrial base, Dahej / PCPIR attracts a large number of business conglomerates emergence of PCPIR region, Dahej SEZ and passing of DMIC in Bharuch Which are expected to further fuel the industrial and economic growth of the Bharuch district in general and Dahej in particular.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for Gujarat's first bulk drug park at Jambusar in Bharuch district. The move, Modi stated, is a step towards making India self-reliant in pharmaceutical raw material sourcing.

The bulk drugs park is being set up by the Gujarat government under the guidelines of the scheme “Promotion of Bulk Drug Parks” issued by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, government of India on July 27, 2020, to promote bulk drugs, active pharmaceutical ingredients and critical pharmaceutical ingredients manufacturing.

Gujarat contributes to about 28% of the country’s pharma exports of USD 25 billion and 30-31% of the domestic market that is pegged at another USD 25 billion. Official of the Indian Drugs Manufactures Association (IDMA). About 300 industries, mostly SMEs, are expected to set up their shops here, he said.
